The current nation-wide economic crisis has impacted our ability to lease a space to exhibit our collections and house an operational office; therefore our museum functions as a museum-on-wheels, for the time being. Our exhibit sites are public places—universities, colleges, libraries, conferences and the like. (In February 2011, for example, we had an exhibit titled Metates and Molcahetes As Functional Art at the Mexican American School Board Association , San Antonio, TX). In short, we will not cease our mission to promote indigenous folk art of the Americas, to include the Chicano community.
